Surgery

Well Andy had surgery yesterday. We are now just waiting for the pathology report.
It was actually a good day, and a funny one at that.

Andy has never had surgery so he was nervous to say the least. They had him hooked up to a IV and in the pretty gown waiting. The anesthesiologist came in and decided to give him some medicine to help him relax. They gave him Versed. He had no longer taken the needle out of the IV when Andy's eyes glassed over. He started to grin and was remarking about how loopy he felt. I laughed at him, while waiting for the doctor. The doctor came in and marked the area he was going to cut on, and I asked what he was doing. Andy piped up he didn't care what he was doing, and he could cut anything he wanted as long as he left "this" alone. He had his hands covering his "manhood". We(nurse & I) busted up laughing. She then proceeded to put his hospital hat on him, which he said she could shave his head after prepping him for surgery, LOL...After he woke up they asked him how he was feeling, and he replied, "I didn't know you were going to take me bar hopping", and that he had 2 to many drinks.

We left and had to stop and pick up his medicine. He was feeling pretty good while at the hospital, but once we left the medicine was wearing off and he was feeling it. I gave him a pain pill and put him to bed.

Dr. Antonio came out afterwards and talked to me. He told me it looked good, I am assuming it didn't look cancerous if cancer has a look. He did say that there was lots of inflammation in the area and they biopsied it and he wanted to see Andy next week. I have my fingers, toes and everything else crossed hoping that the results come back benign.

So... we are laying the waiting game right now.
