Rebecca left June 18th for her summer adventure. Her first stop was Burlington Iowa in the middle of the flooding. My grandmother lives there and my mother went back to spend the summer with her. After spending sometime there and many many stories later she arrived in Springfield Illinois Sunday to spend a couple weeks with Andy's family. This has been an adjustment for me since I have never been away from Rebecca more than an occasional overnight er! I think she is getting homesick but doing well. Her departure has left poor James in a spin. He spent the first week opening her bedroom door each day looking for her. Now he just literally mauls me and tries to stick his appendages in my clothes.
Shalonda graduated from High school June 13th. I was so proud of her, and in the same breath so sad. My first born, the one who made me a mommy is all grown up
. She is now working full-time to help pay for her college in the fall. I have to say she has blossomed into such a beautiful creative individual lately and it is so comforting to watch. It is hard to explain, but almost like watching a Caterpillar changing into a beautiful butterfly and watching it spread it's wings.Shalonda on graduation Day
